Why I do what I do?

I have been active as a graphic designer for 20 years now and have helped many clients with both online and offline designs projects. However, I increasingly had the ambition to also work as a craftsman. Making something unique from scratch with my hands and learning to use the proper tools.

When I picked up my old hobby of playing bass guitar with some of my old band buddies, my first project was refurbishing my old Yamaha Bass. I also wanted to provide this guitar with a pickguard, just to give it something extra. This was not standard applied on this guitar model and therefore not for sale.

Making the crafts my own

I was determined to make a pickguard for my Yamaha bass guitar myself, it worked out really well, and now my bass guitar has a beautiful matte black custom pickguard. I went through a fantastic process in which I immersed myself in laser cutting, CNC milling, printing on different materials and the challenges that come with processing acrylic and PVC.

The origin of the idea

The range of pickguards is there, but mainly focuses on the Fender and Gibson models. And since there are many other brands that equip their guitars with pickguards, that’s where my idea originated.

And all this accessible to interested parties via a handy webshop that offers all the information and configurations to easily achieve the desired result.

That’s where my creative background comes in again.
